Greetings from Tom and Janice
The Tom and Janice Dixon family wish all of you a happy and productive 2014. We’re a few weeks behind trying to catch up from the whirlwind Christmas season – now heading into the depressive bill paying season…
We had Jeff, Spencer, and Angie’s families with us for Christmas and it was so fun. The weather was fantastic. So good that before dinner, we all trouped over to the park nearby and played football. YAH! We hope that this dispels any thoughts that it’s always snowing in Denver (please ignore snow falling during Monday Night Football games in Denver).
The image above shows all of our family as of summer 2012. Since then, Emily and Jared (South Jordan, UT) have added their fifth. She’s a sweetheart – Annie.
The picture was taken in 2012 in Garden City (Bear Lake), UT., just over the hill from Logan. We gather as a family every-other-year to party. We had a marvelous time (you’ve got to check out the Pickleville Playhouse). Now we are in the hunt for the 2014 summer rendezvous location. We usually try to find a home that has at least 6 bedrooms, sleeps 24-27, and offers fun things for the kids to do. Any suggestions are welcome. HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
Fine looking family you have!! Very good to hear from you too. Would once a month be too much?! Life is moving so fast and our families along with it. Bear Lake is lots of fun. My kids took their families and rented a place in Island Park, Idaho. They played at the lake, hiked, and went up to West Yellowstone to a Playhouse there that has a great reputation for being lots of fun for families. St. George has places to rent for large groups as well as many activities for families. Of course, there is Rexburg and the the sand dunes, floating the canals, hiking, fishing, etc. etc. and you would have places to stay there. Just playing together is so much fun. Wishing a wonderful 2014. Love, Mary Ellen
Mary Ellen,
We must think the same. Our family reunion in 2012 was in Island Park. We also went to the playhouse there (some pirate parody) and floated the river like we did in olden times. It was very exciting, even chasing the mice around in the cabin and keeping an eye on the rock chucks. We’ve checked out St. George considering hot weather at the end of July!! That trip we did included Rexburg and it was truly unforgettable.
